The Portland Hat

Nothing says "Portland" like a funky knit hat.
We just finished these two Northwest hats out of a new extra bulky yarn we're crazy about. It's called Indie, by Sirdar. It's a wool/acrylic blend that's washable and knits up overnight on a size US 17 needle.
Each ball is filled with wild colors that flow beautifully as you knit.
These hats will make the perfect fast knitted gift!

The Portland Hat. Love the buttons.

Ear flaps with ties.

This colorway is called Arizona.

A chunky beret in colorway Navajo

Each hat only takes 2 balls of Indie.
I love that you get all 4 of these patterns on 1 sheet.

We carry all 8 colorways at only $6.95 a ball.
The greens (pictured on the left) are so Northwest! It's called Pioneer.

Summer Flies With An Edge

Arwen just finished this beautiful shawl. She loves the way the yarn drapes and feels so much, that she hasn't been able to take it off since she bound off.
It's the Summer Flies pattern by Donna Griffin with Smyrna Lace for the edge. She used Araucania Ruca, a DK weight yarn made from 100% sugar cane. How sweet! This shawl took about 2 1/2 skeins with the Smyrna Lace edging added.

It turned out wonderfully.

This yarn is so soft, it feels like silk.

Gorgeous!

Here's an example the teacher is working on. Two socks being worked at the same time on two circulars!

Sublime Striped Hat

A simple striped hat to keep those ears warm this fall and winter.
We used one of our new yarns, Sublime Organic Merino DK. We've been dying to use this yarn for something and this turned out perfect! The yarn knits up beautifully and almost has an angora feel. This is a a simple hat knit in the round that uses just 1 ball of each color and the pattern is free with the purchase of the yarn!

A ribbed edge that rolls up. Pink and grey for me, grey and charcoal for my snowboarding brother.

Sublime Organic Merino DK. Knits up softer than it feels in the ball and it's already yummy in the ball! The colors are beautiful.
