A Few Of Our New Favorites

Going Green, Recycled Yarns
We have found some yarns that love recycling as much as us! Here are some of the staff picks.
Plymouth, Refashion. This yarn is made from 100% recycled fibers. A blend of 68% Wool, 23% Nylon, 5% Cashmere, 4% Rayon
This is a bulky yarn on a 10 1/2 needle with 104 yds. This yarn is so soft, it will make the perfect winter hat, scarf and mittens!
Beautiful colors.
We have the cutest model of a little girls dress hanging in the shop out of this yarn, pics soon to come!

K1C2, 2nd Time Cotton. This yarn is made from cotton remnants from the garment industry.

Berroco, Remix is also made from 100% recycled fibers and is machine washable. It's a blend of 30% Nylon, 27% Cotton, 24% Acrylic, 10% Silk, 9% Linen with 216 yds. Knits up as a worsted weight and has that nice tweed look.

K1C2, 2nd Time Cotton. This yarn is made from cotton remnants from the garment industry.
It's a worsted weight yarn, knitting up on a size 8 needle and is machine washable. It's a blend of 75% Cotton, 25% Acrylic.
The solid colors are gorgeous and the variegated colors are unique.

Pub Knitting - August 20th
Pub Knitting was so much fun. We filled up The Barley Mill, knit, crocheted, drank and laughed the night away.

Hand Painted Silk Scarf - Staff Pick
We just got in the most gorgeous silk scarf kits. The kit comes with 4 skeins of yummy 60% Silk/ 40% Merino hand painted yarn with a matching silk scarf hand painted in the same colorway. The scarf is knit in garter stitch with holes created evenly throughout the scarf to weave the silk scarf through in the end. Voila! It's a scarf in a scarf.

This scarf can be worn many different ways, the patterns shows 4 options.

Julie knitted this chunky cowl up in no time. She used 2 balls of Debbie Bliss Como, a baby soft blend of 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere. The model is knit in color #22, lilac.

Baby Bunny Baby Hat
My mom has finished yet another baby hat. This time she dabbled in lace, ruffles and ribbon. She used 1 ball of Plymouth Yarns, Baby Bunny, in a sage green, #206 and about a yard of our hand dyed 100% Sumptuous Silk Ribbon in color Plum Delicious finished off with a perfect little purple flower button from our wall of buttons.

Coquille Shawls
Our staff member Kim just finished two Coquille Shawls by Mary Lou Egan featured in Fall Knitty 2010.
One for her, one for her mom.
She used Mini Mochi for her mom's (the blue one) and Kureyon Sock for hers.
She made the smaller version. Any sock weight yarn with long striping can be used.
We love them, good job Kim.
This shawl is contagious, next time you come in the shop everyone will be knitting one.
