Red Scarf Project

We've been rounding up all the scarves, knit or crocheted, that have been donated to us for the Red Scarf Project. Look how lovely they are!

If you are new to this project it was started in 2005, by Orphans of America (OFA). They launched a unique initiative to warm the hearts (and necks) of college-bound foster youth. They began taking donations of handmade red scarves to put into their Valentine's Day Care Packages.

We have been participating since it started and have had wonderful results thanks to all of you!

This years deadline for Red Scarf submissions is January 31st.

For Red Scarf guidelines click here.

Just got in a donation of wonderful hand knitted warm cowls too!

Thank you and continue to drop off your scarves at Yarn Garden until January 31st.

I just finished my scarf today and will be bringing it with me when I make my pilgrimage from Olympia to Portland later this week. :)

Thanks for hosting such a great project. I'm sure that the kids that receive these scarves will be so thankful for them!

Here is my scarf on Ravelry - http://www.ravelry.com/projects/GirlGoneGranola/yarn-garden-red-scarf-for-ofa
